The first half of the book was written by the author, who was also the editor. Most of the essays that were posted online did not get included in the final copy. It took him four years to finish.'The Missing Piece' is abou t Wiesel's fight with the Nazis to convince them to hand over one of his sisters, who was a victim of forced labor. It was not until Wiesel's death did he finally receive her piece of property.There are many more essay topics and short stories about Wiesel, who lived through the Holocaust with such courage and compassion. The Book is very poignant, with references to the landscape of Israel as well as the United States. The essays in the book are well researched and written, which makes them especially valuable for those who want to know more about the life of one of the greatest Jewish American poets.Night - A Memoir by Elie Wiesel is a great read that gives students of essay topics many opportunities to learn about one of the greatest poets in history.
